Actually I never did want a MAC. I’ve always been a PC user and I don’t want a MAC now. But if you do want a MAC and you make a tweet with that phrase in it, you’ll be sure to get a few followers.

That phrase has been used as an example in quite a few marketing pitches for automated tweet scripts. The gist of the theory is that you should be searching for phrases like that and then replying to them. Of course you’ll be tailoring your searches to your niche and what your potential customers would be saying if they need your product.

It’s actually a good approach!

So why not take it one step further and start ‘baiting’ your twitter profile with statements that will attract the people who will message you, follow you and might even buy what YOU are selling.

For the WebHostDealz twitter profile I tweeted the following
“It’s time – I need cheap web hosting”
“Hi everyone – I want cheap web hosting”
“I need web hosting, anyone got any good deals!”
“I want web hosting now”
“I need new web hosting ASAP”
“I want new web hosting with customer support”
At the time I had 1,549 followers. Let’s see if anything happens.

I also searched for “want web hosting” and got some tweets with people using this method to lure prospects to them. Some of the phrases included these:
“I want to know where i can get a cheap web hosting”
“I want to build web site for small business”
“Who wants a free month of web hosting? You want a free month of web hosting! ”
“Let’s see if twitter ‘works’ I want unlimited web hosting”
“I want to know where i can get a cheap web hosting”
“I want to buy domains and web hosting”
“want to find a reliable web hosting company, please help”
Most of them were too obvious to be of any benefit because they had ‘web hosting’ in their profile name (like me). So, if you are going to use this method you need to be a little more creative!

First, log into your twitter profile. Then, just do a simple search like ‘tweet adder’. Twitter will do a very quick search and give you back a page full of ‘realtime results’ for your search term.

Look over the list of results and add whatever friends you want by clicking on the user name to visit their profile.

Click on ‘Reply‘ to retweet the tweet. It’s a good way to get noticed by the original tweeter who is more likely to retweet your own tweets.

The ‘View Tweet‘ link is kind of useless for your purpose, but you could use it to view the background of the tweeter.

Send An Automatic Welcome To New Followers - This can be the most crucial part of your follower contact. They are online and interested in twitter now, not the next day when you happen to login and notice you have a new follower. Besides, how do you currently track who is new!

Schedule tweets – If you have a rush of adrenaline and have lots of tweets you want to do, you can space them a part. This makes you look like you are awake and functioning when you are actually passed out on the couch or just enjoying the daylight.

Autofollow – You will automatically follow anyone who follwes you. Not only is it a common coutesy to follow anyone who follows you, you are likely to be dropped if you do not follow them.

The secret to adding Twitter followers fast is automated software.
